  1. Thanks for the shout-out, Ellie! Covers are so important and it's difficult to find one that works as well as a thumbnail. You're so right that size matters!

    1. It really does. Thank you for opening my eyes to that fact.

  2. I'd have to do an actual review of the covers to see if they look good in thumbnail size. Thus far, I haven't done that and it sounds like it would be in my best interest to do so. Thanks, Ellie, Jess and Talli :-)

  3. It's amazing the differences in a cover when viewed at thumbnail size. That was something my publisher stressed for the first two books.

  4. Since my books are initially e-books I focused on something that looked good in that size. In fact, I had to do some redesign when I published one of them in hard copy, because the cover looked silly in the larger size.

  5. That was smart to change the font and make your name bigger. That is how most people will see a book cover these days.

  6. Oh, great point! Some stuff, especially subtitles and such, are nearly impossible to read. Pretty sure my graphics guy is thinking of all this, as I met him in a 100X100 avie environment, but totally worth asking.

  7. Hi Jess, Ellie and Talli .. what a great write up in the Guardian - great news for one and all ... then the thumbnail aspect - so much to think about and make sure all those bases are covered ... and Ellie your type definitely stands out more ...

    Cheers Hilary
